This year's site for Netherhall's Summer work-camp will be held in Plastic View, a settlement in the north of Pretoria, Johannesburg, South Africa. The settlement has a population of over 6,000 people who live in around 2,500 shacks. Lack of water and lack of sanitation are two of the most urgent problems to be addressed.

We intend to contribute to solve these problems by:

  • Improving sanitation through the construction of latrines
  • Carrying out health promotion programmes to improve hygiene
  • Improving water supply by building and financing water tanks for the settlement
  • Improving road access to the settlement
